A BACHELOR'S POINT OF VIEW
Imagine designing a home in the Virgin Islands. A complete gut job down to the studs. This project gave us creative licenses to design a wonderful vacation home.  A bachelor's paradise and a Designer's dream.  It took 3 months to complete the job that would normally take 6-8 months. Despite all the travel, hundreds of items purchased and shipped via freight, the mission was accomplished. We could not have done it without the incredible talent of a local contractor by the name of Dave and his marvelous team.

GUEST BED & BATH
Notes- Guest room had two patios, but no closet. I created a build in closet and eliminated the patio next to the bathroom and converted it into a window bench (with storage and a twin size mattress)that also serves as an extra place to sleeping.  The shower wall was a glass door that allow you to see into the bathroom from the patio.  Once the window bench was build, it created privacy for the bathroom. A window transom was installed to bring in natural light into the bathroom.
MAIN HALLWAY

HALLWAY NOTES: The guest bathroom sink and a closet was located in the hallway that lead to the guest bathroom. In the new configuration, I installed the sink inside the bathroom and relocated the washer and dryer from the hall area near the master to the renovated hallway. Relocating the sink gave me plenty of room to install a full washer and dryer and  keep the 72" closet for additional storage.

Notes - Converted right side of master closet into a desk area, gained an additional 2' in bathroom by removing the rock/planter box which eliminated the need for a shower door. Original sink was facing the shared wall to the bedroom next to hall entry, positioned the sink facing the view to block off hallway entry and added build-in storage and a glass transom that provided natural light to the hallway entry to the master bedroom.
MASTER BED & BATH
Notes - All appliances on one wall with very little counter space. Refrigerator and small island located in middle of the kitchen which block the view. Solution - Floor to ceiling window section on left was eliminated to create an L shaped kitchen results, more counter space. Extended counter top in sink area to outdoor patio to creating a bar fr serving drinks. A bi-fold window was installed to create an opening for serving guest. Large island installed to replace dining area. Drawer microwave installed in island and refrigerator recessed in space that was once the foyer's closet.
Notes - Eliminated recessed opening along entire wall of windows and bumped walls out even with patio columns which gained additional 12". Designed build-in to accommodate media. Installed 12x24 floor tiles that replaced the 3x5 floor tiles throughout the entire home. The 12x24 tiles continued onto the patio which visually expanded the space.  All interior doors are reeded or frosted glass pocket doors.
